In the raking position, the rake wheels overlap front to back moving the crop to the center. Proper raking is obtained by positioning the bends, on both the support arm and the arms with hubs, towards the back of the unit.
Turning (models RS2-04, RS2-06)
Hay rakes can be used to spread hay that has already been raked. This is normally done to help wet hay dry faster. If the machine is assembled in the spreading position, all rake wheels will be aligned causing them to spread the hay across the width of the machine. Proper spreading is obtained by positioning the bends on both the support arm and the arms with hubs towards the tractor.
Spreading (models RS2-04, RS2-06)
In the turning position, each pair of rake wheels overlap front to back turning the forage crop and allowing it to dry faster. In the turning position, the finger wheels are set to work in pairs turning two windrows in each pass. Proper turning is obtained by positioning the bend on the support arm towards the tractor and bends on the arms with hubs towards the back of the unit
Tapered roller bearings
All wheel rakes are equipped tapered roller bearing mounted in cast steel, greasable hubs. The tapered roller bearings are more durable than the traditional bearings often used by the competition.
Upwards bent wheel elbows
RS2 rakes are equipped with upwards bent wheel elbows that allow for increased flow of raked hay through the wheel rake.
Springs (models RS2-04, RS2-05, RS2-06)
Springs allow for the wheel rakes to have sufficient ground pressure to rake the hay correctly and prevent excessive pressure from lifting up dirt onto the hay.
